Wisconsin Introduces Bill Banning Cannabis Urine Testing in the Workplace
The state of Wisconsin just introduced a bill that would make it illegal to require drug tests for THC.
According to Fox 6 Now, Rep. David Bowen, D-Milwaukee, introduced the bill. It would make sure that people could not get fired for having THC in their systems on the job, since it can stay in your system for a while after it is consumed.
“Consuming THC weeks or months out from a job interview should not disqualify someone from finding employment any more than someone who drank a few beers on another date should be kept out of work,” Bowen claimed.
High Times confirms that if you go to take a drug test even a week after smoking cannabis, you could still fail and lose your job or work opportunity. This becomes even more of a gray area where cannabis is legal or medically allowed.
If this passes, it will mean more freedom for those who use cannabis in Wisconsin.
