Golden State Government Relations is looking for a responsible Project Coordinator to administer and organize client projects for land-use entitlements and state licensing. Golden State provides project management services for clients, policy analysis, application and SOP development, and direct representation to decision makers. In particular, Golden State helps clients in the cannabis industry with local government and governing cannabis agencies, such as the Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC), California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Project Coordinator responsibilities include working closely with Golden State Specialists and Chief Strategic Officer to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects. You will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like application development and composition, project documentation and handling financial queries. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
Ultimately, the Project Coordinator’s duties are to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.
Coordinate project management activities, resources, and information
Develop licensing applications for various license types
Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
Make sure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve
Help prepare budgets
Analyze risks and opportunities
Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
Facilitate all appropriate legal paperwork with respective responsible party (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement)
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
Draft applications and project narratives
Draft proposals for new clients in coordination with Chief Strategic Officer and Marketing Associate
Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
Strong application drafting and writing skills
Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, Gantt Charts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Zoho Projects, Basecamp or Trello).
Additional Qualities of Interest
Hands-on experience with Google Suite including gmail, docs, sheets, etc.
Experience working with ZOHO Projects
BS in Business Administration or a related field
Alternative or related professional training is a plus (I.E. paralegal or other)
Starting base salary will range between $48,000 to $55,000 a year DOE. Additional compensation and benefits after probationary period include health insurance with employer contribution of 80% (Silver Kaiser Plan), 401(k) with up to 4% match depending on employee contribution, bonuses based on company success, 20 days Paid Time Off accrued throughout each year, flexible work schedules including opportunities for telecommuting, phone reimbursement, among many more.
