Job Summary:
The Tinley Field Marketing Manager’s (FMM) mission is to develop and execute regional consumer marketing programs. This position will build relationships and credibility with the Brand’s defined target consumer segments through promotions, trial, and consumer feedback. He/She will further define additional consumer segments using their understanding/observation of dispensary traffic and relationships with store owners. The FMM will drive brand knowledge and awareness through a wide range of programming including education, sampling, and engagement targeting the core consumer and key trade contacts. The FMM will be accountable for brand education to trade and consumers and for creating brand advocacy and affinity for Tinley beverages and products.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
Key Account Programming:
Manage relationships with 10 key accounts, which include flagship and highest volume priority accounts
Leverage relationships to obtain 100% distribution and merchandising, demonstration, and educational/training opportunities
Manage and oversee regional Sales Representative
Manage and ensure distributors’ delivery of each order
Brand Advocacy & Education:
Provide brand and category education, build brand advocacy, and engage the consumer, budtenders, and retailers through sampling, training and education
Execute special events and demonstrations at key accounts
Act as the expert voice of the Tinley brands and the smoke-free cannabis/beverage category. Successful FMMs will be comfortable with public speaking and educating consumers, become a trusted key contact for brand expertise, and engage in ongoing category and brand training to grow knowledge further
Consumer Marketing and Event Management:
Localize Tinley brand platforms and manage the execution of consumer marketing programs within targeted key accounts
Develop programs/events with multiple consumer touch points. Plan and execute Micro-events per consumer segment
Identify opportunities to sample and educate consumers
Develop execution guidelines for consumer segment engagement
Attend & manage consumer activation events and demonstrations
Manage event booking
Contribute to design of communication pieces, such as Client website and POS materials, with messaging designed for the target consumer profiles
Recruit, train, and manage brand representatives
Work within region to guide and adapt activities based on brand needs
Manage budgets for programs and events
Manage ongoing allocation of program funds
Consumer and Competitive Insights:
Source for consumer, channel, and competitive insights and communicate information up through the organization
Use insights to collaborate with brand and local sales teams to develop innovative programs and ideas
Provide content on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis and as needed that highlights best practice and identifies areas of opportunity
Communication:
Provide strong communication with Tinley team and Director of Field Marketing. Manage the flow of communication from the field to Client and agency management. Return emails, phone, and text message with a sense of urgency.
Minimum Requirements:
2 to 3 years of Field Marketing Event and Sales experience required
1 to 2 years of Management experience required
Professional experience in Cannabis industry preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to drive/travel throughout the designated market area
Creative thinker with an ability to create and plan events that effectively target the consumer
Has sound financial skills and experience managing a budget
Driven and tenacious with strong Sales skills
Willing to work unconventional hours, including nights and weekends
Regularly attends cannabis industry events, hosting and entertaining dispensary owners/management/budtenders
Understanding of social media/digital platforms
Business acumen with ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, Salesforce management, CRM systems, including logging all store visits, orders, and possibly geotracking
Maintain professional communication, and build presentations
Strong communication skills, including effective public speaking
Able to effectively train members of trade and act as an exemplary brand resource
Flexible with effective problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly and creatively
Other Position Details:
Territory Focus: Southern California. The FMM will manage top 10 accounts and oversee the sales activity of Sales Representatives with an account universe of 50 key accounts, 150 target accounts, and 200 total accounts within the assigned geographic area.

Position Financials (Annual):
Base Salary: $ 75,000 – $85,000
Bonus Opportunity: 10%
Auto Allowance: $ 6,600
Communication Allowance: $ 2,400
