Our client, a rapidly expanding cannabis distribution company, is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager for their existing Los Angeles and Southern California Market.
This position requires previous cannabis industry sales management experience, with a history of leading top performing sales teams for the dispensary market.
You will be representing top quality brands, focusing on superior customer service, building and then guiding a Los Angeles based regional sales team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Successfully manage, train, and develop a large team of territory sales managers located throughout the Los Angeles, Orange County and Inland Empire areas.
The Regional Sales Manager will handle several major key accounts, and assist their area sales reps as necessary with closing new business.
Set individual and regional sales objectives for your area sales team, and help develop annual sales quotas on new and existing products.
Coordinate with the Marketing Team, including Field Marketing reps, Brand Managers and the Public Relations firm on events throughout the state.
Set up merchandising, marketing and promotional plans with area dispensaries.
Set up long-term sales relationships with leading industry contacts, dispensary managers & budtenders
Attend and represent brands at industry conferences and trade shows as necessary
Work closely with sales reps on cross-territory opportunities and other internal teams on marketing materials
Be the champion of our brand, making sure the communication message is clear, on strategy and consistent throughout the organization
Plan, coordinate and work with field marketing and operations to create and deliver consumer unique experiences
Travel as required for in-person meetings with customers and sales team to develop key relationships
Required Education and Experience:
Experience building and leading a sales team in a high-growth environment within food & beverage, cannabis, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical industries or related industries
A leader who can manage a team, but also can sell in and design programs with large scale accounts, regional partners, distribution partners and delivery services
Leadership skills to successfully supervise and develop a team of direct reports
Experience supporting retail accounts with exceptional sales service and follow up – we want to partner and support our customers – not just sell them
Ability to design sales and merchandising programs which other regional managers, territory managers, and field marketing managers will execute
Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment with minimal systems support
Strong people skills including motivating others
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functions to achieve buy-in and gain support for sales efforts
Proactive approach to learning what our customers want and need and then helping us deliver products that fill those needs
Preference: Prior training in Cannabis sales or a larger CPG company (Pepsi, Coke, P&G, Clorox, etc.)
Compensation: $85K base salary with an override bonus on territory sales, paid health benefits, and reimbursement for travel and entertainment expenses.
