Dispensary General Manager

Silverpeak Apothecary is Aspen’s first dispensary, known for its luxury experience and premium products. Our budtenders are on the customer side of the counter, freely sharing information about legal cannabis and various products with customers. We are searching for an experienced General Manager to run the retail store and work seamlessly with the corporate team.
This role will handle managing of day-to-day operations in a regulated, recreational and medical cannabis dispensary and mercantile shop. This includes managing staff, ordering products, controlling inventory, increasing sales while upholding strong margins, maintaining vendor relationships, conducting daily administrative tasks, organizing required paperwork, and advertising in local media outlets. Regulatory compliance is a critical responsibility of this role, as well.
Develop and maintain shop operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational policies and procedures.
Train staff sales techniques, compliancy, and in-depth cannabis knowledge.
Create a culture of continuous improvement.
Cultivate a professional and educational experience for customers.
Maintain the highest level of customer service.
Responsible for controlling costs and increasing sales.
Handle daily cash counts and petty cash.
Administer proper procedures for accepting deliveries and providing payments.
Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of both shops.
Oversee procurement of cannabis and mercantile products.
Increase sales in a highly competitive environment while maintaining a strong margin.
Analyze value of products with a cost-to-margin evaluation.
Research new products and vendors.
Oversee monthly inventory audits and end-of-month administrative and accounting tasks.
Maintain a fully compliant cannabis dispensary.
Cultivate positive relationships with vendors.
Maintain an organized archive of required paperwork.
Write copy, assist in the creative design, and place advertisements in local media outlets.
Coordinate with marketing manager the daily or weekly sales and promotions.
Have a thorough, working knowledge of MJ Freeway and METRC.
Oversee security systems throughout the shop.
Interact with business team members to address technical or regulatory questions and provide solutions to problems.
Have general knowledge of IT systems and fix routine issues.
Have a high level of critical and creative thinking in order to fix most scenarios that may arise in day-to-day operations.
Human Resources process and procedures.
Oversight and scheduling of team to maximize productivity and profitability of the business.
Overall quality control of all products as well as facility.
Full P&L responsibility.
Responsible for ensuring strict adherence to MED regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s in business development or MBA preferred.
Experience as an effective manager of a retail shop.
Experience in inventory management. METRC experience preferred.
Understanding of MED compliance protocol.
Previous experience in one or more of the following: Just In Time Production, Batch Processing, Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints.
Previous experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Demonstrate leadership by actions and acts as an example to others at all times.
Ability to manage a team in a retail setting.
Excellent experimental design, data collection, results interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
Effective autonomous time management and team time management.
Detail oriented, highly organized, and motivated by accomplishment.
Ability to present ideas effectively and communicate well with all levels of management within a team environment on a variety of programs and projects.
Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft Suite).
Ability to work independently and in a continually changing environment.
